Where did the time go?

My apologies to anyone following this thing - the blog's been inactive for months for a number of reasons - me doing a thesis project, less squirrels in the garden over the winter months, and the neighbours' cats deciding that my garden is a good place to hang out.

There have been a few sightings, including another pregnant squirrel a while ago, so I'm hoping that over the next couple of months and as the evenings get lighter I'll have some more to show you!

Dampened spirits

Oh dear...I'm not sure when I will next get pictures of the squirrels near the pond. I was just watching one of them drinking from the fountain, when it decided that was too much hard work and sneaked under the netting (which is there to keep the herons from stealing the fish) to drink straight from the pond.

Unfortunately, small squirrels can occasionally be a bit clumsy, and the next second there was a splash followed by a little soggy thing trying frantically to get out!

I'm pleased to report that I will never join the ranks of the papparazzi - instead of taking photos of the poor little bedraggled guy I ran outside to lift up the netting so he could escape...he squelched off (literally!) with his tail between his legs...
